01 / Where it began

The experience goes back decades.
The work continues today.

LEARNED AT
HIS FATHER’S SIDE.

Long before he was carrying the business forward, Islander Concrete’s owner was growing up in the trade.

His father’s business was where he learned the work firsthand. The family’s experience goes back decades. Today, Islander continues that family business with residential concrete work in Wilmington and the surrounding South Bay.

That work becomes part of someone’s day: the driveway they come home to, the path to the backyard, or the patio where they pull up a chair. Those are the spaces this business is here to help homeowners plan.

GOOD WORK
STARTS WITH
GOOD QUESTIONS.

You do not need to have the whole project figured out before starting a conversation.

  1. What do you need the space to do?

A patio needs room for the table and chairs you want to put on it. A walkway needs to connect the places you use. Start with how you want to spend time there.

  2. What is already there?

Existing concrete, nearby doors and steps, and access to the space all shape the project. A few photos can make that first conversation much more useful.

  3. What should be clear before work starts?

Talk through what the job includes, the finish you want, the estimate, and what happens next. It is your home; bring the questions you need answered before making a decision.
